Trailers In My Chosen Genre

In order to expand my research i have chosen to analyse trailers in my chosen genre in order to gain ideas for editting and producing.

This trailer starts off with an establishing shot and a happy feel before the true nature of the film is reveiled, this appiles to more than one audience, enticing potential viewers from more than one genre. The trailer then takes a sinister turn as a murder in the house is confessed, suddenly the genre of the movie is reveiled and the horror begins. Followed by a series of jump cuts accompanied by an eerie sound track and title text the trailer continues to entice fans of the horror/thriller genre, leaving them begging for more.

This trailer claims to be real evidence of paranomral activity, another installment in the "moc-umentary" franchsise of horror in which the movie tries to convince the audience it is factual footage. The trailer succeeds in this aim using a mass amount of text on the screen to portray the story, giving ratings from credited reviewers along the way to gain popularity. A series of jump cuts are then followed with screams, shouts and cries as the trailer builds up to bursting point before letting the tention drop, then building it up for one last scare.
